
The 4th of July is always a big celebration for the United States to celebrate Independence Day. The signing of the Declaration of Independence was on July 4, 1776. What do you think of when you think of the 4th of July? Apple pie, barbecue, ice cream and fireworks are all part of the celebration.
A 4th of July party is always on July 4th, but parties can be on the weekend prior to the 4th of July. Invitations are not needed, however, you can send a free e-vite to friends and family if you have everyone's e-mail address. 4th of July parties are almost always a casual party setting that takes place outside. A BBQ and fireworks at night are all part of the fun!
Decorations- Decorate in red, white and blue colors. Use American flags to line the front yard or picnic area. Balloons, and streamers and be grouped in red, white and blue colors.
Tables- For the table cloth, napkins and plates purchase in red, white and blue or in a flag pattern. Flowers and foods can also be in red, white and blue colors.
Attire- What you wear will also become part of the decorations. Wear red, white, and blue clothing or a 4th of July T-shirt. Guests usually don't have to be told what to wear, they know what to colors to wear on this special holiday!
Favors- 4th of July favors as well as 4th of July decorations, can be found at party supplies stores located in Oregon and Vancouver, WA. Have a cozy barbecue or 4th of July picnic with friends and family in your backyard. Since it is summertime, you could also have your Independence Day party at a local park, lake or to the beach. Make it a whole day of picnic activities at your favorite location. You may want to choose a location where you can legally light fireworks or see a firework display.
Covered park shelters, for a day time party, must be reserved way in advance for a 4th of July picnic or party. Catering- For a large party at your home, you might want to consider catering. If you are having the 4th of July party in a restaurant's banquet room or at a venue, your food might be part of the birthday package or room rental.
Party Food- If you are planning a home party or 4th of July picnic, there are recipes and food ideas for Appetizers, Fnger Sandwiches "cut in stars with a cookie cutter", party Snacks, Chip & Dips, on this site that you can serve. These things can be served with a typical American BBQ which consists of hot dogs, hamburgers, ribs, steak, and chicken. Consider serving a watermelon cut out as a basket and filled with assorted cut fruits and melons balls. Potato salad, coleslaw and baked beans for side dishes are also common foods served on the 4th. For desert consider making homemade ice cream! Apple pie and strawberry-blueberry shortcake are also 4th of July favorites.
Party Drinks- For beverages, consider making a red colored Punch . For an colorful ice ring, consider adding "blue" berries in a container and freeze in water. "Red" berries, such as cherries and raspberries, can also be added to the ice ring. Ice cold lemonade is also a refreshing drink to serve at your 4th of July celebration.
4th of July Games- The night time fireworks and sprinklers will be the highlight activity at your Independence Day party. But, during the day, plan on playing outdoor games. Play games like 3 legged races, sack races, or arrange for a baseball, volleyball, or badminton games. For a hot summer day a water balloon toss, or a slip and slide for the kids add some fun to the party!
